Premiere Adolescent IOP
IOP stands for Intensive Outpatient. Many parents or guardians opt
into trying the lowest level of care before deciding
if a higher level is more appropriate. The level of
care determined will be based on a comprehensive
assessment and ASAM requirements. Some factors
may include self-harm, suicidal ideation (SI),
untreated trauma, oppositional defiance disorders,
and suspected personality disorders.

Talk To A Specialist TodayDual Diagnosis
When treating adolescents with alcohol or substance use disorders, it is necessary to address the underlying reasons that someone engages in addictive behaviors. This may include a secondary diagnosis of a psychiatric disorder which may have been left unchecked, unmanaged or even undiagnosed. Our professional team is open and receptive to the plight of adolescents struggling with addiction. Every adolescent is assessed to help us create a therapeutic direction for treatment by exploring the child’s personal history of mental health issues, including but not limited to, anxiety and depression.
Talk To A Specialist TodayMental Health & Addiction
Adolescent alcohol or drug use accelerates rapidly when an undiagnosed and untreated mental health disorder is present. When teenagers are struggling with emotional problems, they often turn to alcohol or drug use to help them manage painful or difficult thoughts and feelings. Why are they different than adults? Because the adolescents’ brain is still developing, and the results of “self-medication” can become problematic. Substance abuse progression is more likely to happen in kids with mental health disorders than other kids. Typically about half of adolescents struggling with mental health have turned to the behavior of “medicating”. Substance use can impede the treatment of mental health disorders and worsens the long-term prognosis for a teenager struggling with one. It’s also common for children with mental health or learning disorders to develop self-esteem problems, with a high need for wanting to fit in and feel normal, turning to substances trying to feel better and/or accepted.
